Become A Tutor

Becoming a tutor can be a rewarding experience and give you flexibility around your work-life balance. Job satisfaction is guaranteed as well as excellent access to quality training and subsidised CPD. In addition tutoring offers great pay rates and is a good opportunity to develop work experience in education.

Ideally you will have experience of teaching in some prior role, be it in a primary school, secondary school, college or SEND school. You may be a higher level teaching assistant, teaching assistant, already are a tutor or be an ECT looking for a different role. Additionally, you may even be a teacher who is looking to return to the profession after a break, or want to teach without the added classroom responsibilities.

You will need to be willing to work face to face with pupils in school or college settings, either working with them in small groups or individually. Working is flexible, but you will need to be available according to the school or college requirements, in term time. All tutor applicants will be subject to our usual high standards of the recruitment process, including full background and employment checks, interviews, references and DBS clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee tutoring for the assigned school and selected pupils
  • Prepare session as directed by the school or college
  • Participate in marking and report writing that the school or collge requires
  • Assist in administrative duties related to assigned school(s) and the project
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve pupil and school objectives
  • Adhere to all policies and protocols of the school and Operam Education Tutoring
