Are you a 2018 NQT?
Well here we are already, it’s half term and we are officially half way through the academic year!
For all you qualified teachers and NQTs it is time for you to reflect upon the last half term and recharge your batteries! However for those who are due to qualify in 2019, now is the time to start thinking about what next academic year will bring!
Here at Key Stage, we understand that applying for jobs can be a daunting prospect for new 2019 NQT – however supply teaching can be the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career. I am sure you have all seen in the news that over 50% of NQTs drop out in the first 5 years of teaching; by building your knowledge of local schools on supply you can make sure you get the right teaching role for you!
Never see supply teaching as a ‘back up’ for permanent teaching roles, but as a fantastic opportunity to build upon your experience and confidence by working in a variety of schools!
Even if you are able to secure a role for September, you can keep yourself in the classroom working as a teaching assistant, HLTA or unqualified teacher until you receive your teaching qualification.
