Recruitment consultants not only answer calls from educational institutions looking for both permanent and temporary workers, but also visit schools, interview new candidates, attend career fairs, review CVs, and check references.
The key thing, beyond any qualification, is attitude. With recruitment, there’s a large element of sales and customer service, so you need to be somebody who can converse well and hold themselves in a presentation. You certainly need to be people-orientated, because our clients and candidates are at the centre of our world every day.
As well as being a strong individual, you need to be able to work within a team environment as there are deadlines and challenges to be met. It’s not just a case of having conversations with people.
